Part of a new series. 

Holy Cow! You see this one? I know I created it but still! This is the bees knees! I call it "Balance" for obvious reasons...but the title is the only obvious thing about it. It kinda jumps out at you from the darkness behind. Am I right? Look close, and like all of my work, you can see my spine and brain scans. Again, one of my new faves in this new series I am working on.  

Like all of my images, the content is 100% from my own MRIs, brain scans and CT scans. Iris has a symmetry that I like. If you look closely you can see my brain scans looping around the center.

This one is a triptych of 3 equally sized square images. Meant to be hung in a row, they bring my brain scans into perspective.

I call this Jungle because the patterns and colors evoke the look of tropical jungles and leaves. My brain scans are obvious above and below. Inside the middle slice there are also bits of brain scan, but also circles that contain images of my spine and nerves.

Holy Cow! So I did not expect it, but Gilt has turned out to be one of my faves. It has a very "gold dipped lace" kind of thing going on which is different from my other pieces. 

This piece is made primarily with brain scans. The pattern racing across the front almost looks like a school of fish. Thus, the name: Aquatic.

Like all the others, this is made entirely from medical images. Upon inspection, the vessel is resting on a bed of spines. The area for the lungs, the spine and even the pelvis is visible. Not something you may notice otherwise, but once you see it, it brings out a whole new element.

I love the colors in this one. It also seems to change each time you see it. Upon close inspection you see my brain scans everywhere!

Work in progress

I believe that someone or something has been watching my back during my entire health scare. While this image may seem a bit dark, I wanted to show throughout all the tough times that I knew I had friends and family present and past that were with me the whole time. Witness is intended to show throughout the swirling chaos, I know you guys are there. Thank you so much for the support guys.

This piece is created from MRIs of my spine. I used techniques to make a ball out of those images, colorized them, and put them on a "tablecloth" of lace made out of nerves and such. 

This image contains images including my lungs and upper spine. I actually presented a framed print of this to my pulmonologist who was on the team that saved my life.

This is actually my very first print. I love how it came out, but my style has moved on a bit since then.  I actually presented a framed print of this to my neurologist who was on the team that saved my life.

The colors on this piece were inspired the wedding/honeymoon my wife and I had in Kauai. The bright tropical colors throughout the island and the town of Kapa'a  were just beautiful. These colors definitely influenced this one.

I like the different textures of the image inside the "window." Some appear to be looking through frosted glass, while other areas are clear. I also really enjoy how the dark of the window and the bright, extreme contrast of the outside really play on each other. Oh, and the lighter parts of the image are all brain scans. 

This one uses patterns in a slightly different way. Some of the areas almost look like cuniform figures (Persian wedge shaped writing from olden times!). I love how the oranges and yellows on this one work together. It makes me smile.

This is an interesting piece in that it appears that various layers are left or "Stripped" off revealing different colors and textures. This is much brighter than many of my pieces thus far and a bit of a change.

This curtain pulls back to reveal a larger pattern, peering out. The large zigzag going around the center is my spinal cord made into a circular pattern. Look closely throughout and you will see little ladders and other elements from my spine images!

With "Tagged" I was playing a  bit with textures. At times it appeared to be almost like a subway painting on a wall...thus..."Tagged." I hope you dig it!
